Scaling a Multi-Region Compliance Ecosystem Using AWS
Client Background
The client is a global provider of regulatory and compliance data whose product depends on the reliability, security, and reach of the platform beneath it. Its AWS estate manages approximately 2 petabytes of data across four production regions in the United States, European Union, and Japan, with security telemetry extending across 17 regions.
Business Challenge
At this scale, the platform had to grow with the data while modernizing legacy database licensing, meeting regional data-residency requirements, continuously evidencing security controls, and maintaining availability with a lean operations team. These pressures had to be addressed together without a proportional rise in operational effort.
The Solution
CodeNinja architected, migrated, operates, and continuously engineers a multi-region AWS platform spanning database modernization, containerization, serverless workloads, private networking, security, compliance, and resilience. The estate runs in the client’s own AWS account and is defined as infrastructure as code, while a controlled Oracle-to-Amazon Aurora migration uses AWS DMS continuous change data capture.
Measurable Outcomes
- ~2 PB Data Under Management across object, block, and archive storage.
- 49 AWS-Native Services plus integrated third-party platforms operating as one engineered estate.
- 4 Production Regions, with security telemetry and governance extending across 17 regions.
- Automated Compliance Evidence through AWS Config, AWS Security Hub, and AWS CloudTrail.
- Private-Only Service Networking using VPC endpoints and AWS PrivateLink.
